Biography

Knud Knudsen Aarset was baptized on 2 Jul 1788 in Hjørundfjord, the son of Knud Knudsen and Johanne Eriksdatter.[1]

In the 1801 census, Knud (age 13) lived with his parents, Knud and Johanne, and his siblings Mathias, Randi, Johan, and Guri at Aarseth in Hjørundfjord.[2]

Knud married Kari Knudsdatter Hustad on 29 Oct 1820 in Hjørundfjord.[3] They lived at Ner-Saure in Hjørundfjord. Their children were:

  1. Knud Knudsen, born 20 Dec 1820 (died young)
  2. Knud Andreas Knudsen, born 3 Aug 1822
  3. Ingeborg Johanne Knudsdatter, born 2 Jul 1825
  4. Brit Knudsdatter, born 12 Jun 1828
  5. Randi Knudsdatter, born 25 Feb 1831
  6. Halvor Knudsen, born 7 Jun 1834
  7. Caroline Knudsdatter, born 1 Nov 1839 (died young)
  8. Marta Oline Knudsdatter, born 3 Jan 1841

He passed away on 21 Mar 1845.[4] The age given on his burial record was 57 years.

Knud's probate was dated 8 Apr 1845.[5]
