John Knudsen Aldal [Jon Knudsen, 26,m], son of Knud Olsen Aldalen and Joren Larsdatter, born August 12, 1822. Ernigrated from Voss, Ho;
later to the Big Canoe settlement, Winneshiek Co., IA; then to St. Ansgar,IA.
Married, Synneve Helgesdatter Vatthe.
Six children, including: Helge, born November 27, 1858; Knut; Julia; Betsy; Susanna.——Voss, Ho, Norway, Church records; Historieom Udvandringer fra Voss og Vossigeme i Almerika, 415; Big Canoe Lutheran Church records.[2]
