A Cedar Rapids resident 65 years, he was born May 18,1895, at Ladora, and he was married to Rachel M. Rick Feb. 23, 1924, at Cedar Rapids. Mr. Kohl was a building contractor and was employed by the Morehead Construction Co. for many years, retiring in 1960. He was a member of the American Legion Hanford post.
__Surviving are his wife; six sons, Karl Joe Kohl, William Kohl, Jon P. Kohl, David R. Kohl, and Peter A. Kohl, all of Cedar Rapids, and Bruce F. Kohl of Westminster, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Leo Krecioch, Mrs. Richard Blood and Mrs. Richard Zacek, all of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Carol A. Fish of Norwalk, Calif., Mrs. Arnold Alcott of Marion, and Patricia L. Kohl of Chicago; four brothers, Paul R. Kohl of Davies, Calif., Kenneth C. Kohl of Cedar Rapids, Dr. Gerald C. Kohl of Tacoma, Wash., and Herold C. Kohl of Seattle; a sister, Mrs. Herschel Brieker of Farmington, Maine; 25 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
__Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Paul W. Somerville of Kenwood Park United Methodist church. Burial: Cedar Memorial cemetery, where military services will be conducted by Hanford post. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial funeral home after noon Tuesday and at the chapel after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
