The Kohl family cannot be found in the 1857 Grimm census. There were four sons, five grandsons and two granddaughters, so they should have been represented in the 1857 census. The only explanation is that they moved to another colony, perhaps a daughter colony. If the entire family moved together before 1850, it would explain why there is no entry for any of them in the 1857 census. The departure of the male family members would have been noted in the 1850 male-only census.
