Biography

Anna was born 22 Mar 1872 in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Charles G Kolb and Catherine Weiler. [1][2]

In 1885 she was living in Logan, Ida, Iowa.[3] The household included Charles G Kolb age 50, Catherine M Kolb age 52, John C Kolb age 24, William F Kolb age 21, Charles L Kolb age 18, Sadie E Kolb age 16 and Anna M Kolb age 13. Charles was a farmer. Charles and Catherine were born in Germany, everyone else in Iowa.

Roy C Clifton and Anna M Kolb were married 9 May 1900 in Logan Township, Ida, Iowa. He was the son of Samuel W Clifton and Anna Reed. She was the daughter of Charles G Kolb and Margaret Weiler.[4]

In 1900 she was living in Corwin Township Ida Grove town, Ida, Iowa.[5] The household included R C Clifton age 31 born in Illinois and wife Anna M Clifton age 28 born in Pennsylvania. Roy was an electrician. Anna had no children.

A twin son and daughter, unnamed, were born in 1905 and died at less than one year of age.[6]

In 1910 she was living in Ida Grove Ward 1, Ida, Iowa.[7] The household included Roy C Clifton age 40 born in Illinois, wife Anna M Clifton age 38 born in Pennsylvania and son Clifford C Clifton age 3 born in Iowa. Roy was a manager at an electric company. Anna was the mother of 3 children, 2 living.

In 1920 she was living in Corwin, Ida, Iowa.[8] The household included R C Clifton age 50 born in Illinoios, wife Anna M Clifton age 47 born in Pennsylvania and son Clifford C Clifton age 13 born in Iowa. Roy was a manager at an electric company.

In 1925 she was living in Ida, Iowa.[9] The household included Roy C Clifton age 55, wife Anna Clifton age 52 and son Clifford C Clifton age 18. Roy was born in Illinois, the son of S W Clifton and Anna Reed. Anna was born in Pennsylvania the daughter of Charles G Kolb and Catherine Weiler. Her parents, born in Germany, were married in New York.

In 1930 she was living in Ida Grove, Ida, Iowa.[10] The household included Roy C Clifton age 60 born in Illinois, wife Anna Clifton age 58 born in Pennsylvania and son Clifford Clifton age 23 born in Iowa. Roy had no occupation. Clifford was a telephone pole inspector.

In 1940 she was living in Ida Grove, Corwin Township, Ida, Iowa.[11] She was widowed and head of household.

She died 27 May 1957 in Ida Grove, Iowa.

She is buried in Ida Grove Cemetery, Ida Grove, Ida County, Iowa. [12]
