Biography
Ted Koppel is a broadcast journalist, best known as the anchor for ABC News' Nightline, from the program's inception in 1980 until 2005
Edward James Martin Koppel better known as Ted was born in 1940 in England. His parents had escaped Nazi Germany. He graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor of science degree and he obtained his master's degree from Stanford University.
ABC Radio News hired him in 1963 and he was the youngest correspondent they ever hired. He reported on the Kennedy assassination in 1963 which provided him with national attention. He covered presidents and presidential conventions. He became the host of ABC News' Nightline. He spent twenty-five years anchoring the program.
