Frederic Henry Kormann was born March 7, 1909 in San Francisco county, California, USA. He was the son of Frederic Kormann and Ida Voll.[1]
Known professionally as "Phillip Terry", he was Joan Crawford's third husband. While married, they adopted a son whom they originally named "Phillip Terry Jr". After Phillip and Joan divorced, she changed their son's name to "Christopher Crawford".
He was an actor and played leading roles in a number of B-movies and occasionally supporting roles in some A productions. He is best remembered for his portrayal of 'Wick Birman' in "The Lost Weekend." (1945)
He died February 23, 1993 and was cremated, his ashes scattered in the Pacific off the coast of Santa Barbara.[2]
