Biography
My interest in genealogy was sparked over 25 years ago, when I wanted to check whether my e-mail address was added correctly at Yahoo. I searched only for the surname Kottal, because I knew we are the only family by that name in Denmark. To my surprise, the list of results was very long and then I started the quest to find a link between me and the other Kottals on the list.
After focusing on the Kottal surname for a couple of years, I extended my search to my other lines of ancestry. In addition, I am now also researching my husband's ancestry. Many of my findings can be seen at my website [1].
My hobby has since developed into my job. I started by genealogy research business in 2013. In May 2022, I was awarded the credential Certified Genealogist® which was a dream come true. I don't remember having received the email, and I did get an email about this post, but maybe it was caught by the spam filter - it is unpredictable sometimes.
Anyhow, I don't use WikiTree for my personal tree. I joined to help source unsourced trees, and I wish I had time to continue doing that, but I don't at the moment, and I can't say when I can do it again. If that means you have to remove me from the group, then that's what you do.
I assume that I can ask to join again when I get the time to continue sourcing trees.
