According to my family story, my Great-grandfather always said he was from royalty. The story I was told, by my mom, was he was Kaiser Wilhelm’s personal valet. Every Saturday, my mom, would help him bathe, trim his beard, give him a manicure, get his clothes ready (iron his clothes, etc.). He even wore a pinky ring and was a very proud man. That said, we all kind of humored him, until I met someone from Germany who I told this to. She said, he WAS from royalty because any child born to a royal out of wedlock would be brought into the palace to be cared for and trained in a job. If the royal cared a great deal for that woman her child would be given a very prestigious job, such as a personal valet. The question I have is, how do I find out how true this is. Thank you.
