Catharina Krafft was born in Rechtenbach, Kingdom of Bavaria, on 19 April 1834[1]. She was the daughter of Franz Krafft and Catharina Wettermann.
At the time of the 1851 Canada Census, Francis and Catherine Kroft and Catherine (misspelled as "Cathaine" on the enumeration sheet), Elizabeth, Lewis, Charles, Francis Kraft, and George Krafft were listed as living in Bertie Township, Canada West[2].
