Biography

Catherine S was born in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of Henry Kraft and Barbara A Upperman. She was baptized in the German Parish of Sacred Heart of Jesus in the town of Conewago, Adams county (Diocese of Harrisburg) Pennsylvania on 10 Apr 1820 under the name of "Catherine Louisa Kraft". ^[1]. Her godparents appear to be her maternal grandparents, Adam Opperman and Elizabeth.

She was married to John A. Simpson ( of Durham, England ) about 1852 and they had, at least, 6 children:
