Edward Richard Krajniak PhD was born on 9th March 1948 in Regensburg, the fourth-largest city in Bavaria, Germany at the confluence of the Danube, Naab and Regen rivers. Between 1945 and 1949, Regensburg was the site of the largest displaced persons (DP) camp in Germany. Ed was of Polish descent, the son of Czeslaw Krajniak and Maria unknown.
With his family, Ed migrated to New South Wales, Australia in 1949. They settled in the Bankstown region of Greater Sydney. [1]
Ed attended the University of Sydney; graduating with a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD).
Ed married Robyn Thomas on 23rd August 1973 in Sydney, New South Wales. [2] They have two children and made their home in Adamstown Heights, in the industrial city of Newcastle, New South Wales.

Aged 55 years, Ed passed away in February 2004 in Adamstown Heights, New South Wales, and was subsequently cremated on 21st February 2004 in Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium, North Ryde, New South Wales. [5]
