Johann Gottlieb Krause was born on 26 Jun 1786 in Gimmel, Kreis Wohlau, Silesia, Prussia, the son of Johann Heinrich Krause and Anna Rosina Eichner.^[1]

Johann married Eva Rosina Guhl on 2 Feb 1812 in Trachenberg.^[1] One child is known:

• Caroline Friederike Krause (1823 - 1882)

He died on 18 Nov 1860 in Gimmel aged 74.^[1]
