Note: the family name is sometimes spelled Kreij, sometimes Krey, and it is often hard to tell the difference in the handwritten sources. In Signe's birth record, especially, I can hardly make out more than that it begins with Kr... In my own research, I have chosen to consistently use the spelling Kreij as it seems to be the more common, particularly in the older records of the family, but I will try to remember to change it if it appears different in birth records.
Signe was born in Gävle in 1879.[1] She worked as a schoolteacher until she married Hjalmar Kjellin in 1910[2] and moved to him in Södra Möckleby, Öland. They had two children, Britta and Barbro, and retired to Gävle in 1942[3], where she passed away in 1945.[4]
