Daniel Kreutzer is mentioned in the book "Out of the Desert" by John E. Blundell, page 35: "I made my co-pilot, Lt. Don Johnson of Akron, OH, and MY RADIO OPERATOR, S. SGT. DAN KREUTZER OF DERBY, CO., stay up front at their stations when the fighting first started. Bullets just missed my head twice, so I figured they might be needed. LATER KREUTZER WENT BACK AND MANNED A GUN AND JOINED THE FIGHT. KREUTZER, Cox, and Hendricks WERE WOUNDED IN THE FIGHT BUT REFUSED TO LEAVE THEIR GUNS. A 20mm enemy shell entered the plane and then exploded inside the plane wounding Hendricks. It did something to the rest of us to see those men fight back when it would have been so easy for them to give up. It made me proud I was one of them."[4]
