Josephine Kreutzer (known to friends and family by her nickname "Honey") was born in April 1897. in Whitewater, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Peter Kreutzer and Catherina Liar.
After her birth the family moved to Beloit, Wisconsin, where Josephine grew up.
In 1920 Josephine married Wallace "Dewey" Johnson. They remained in Beloit, where they had four children: James (1921), Thomas (1923), Wallace E. (1929), and Donald (1933).
In 1953 Wallace became vice president of a North Carolina machine company, and he and Josephine lived in North Carolina until he retired in 1958.
After Wallace retired, they returned to the Beloit area. Wallace died in Nov 1963.
