Hattie Miertschin Hattie Miertschin, 95, of Beaumont, died Thursday, March 29, 2007. A native of Taylor and resident of Beaumont since 1942, Hattie volunteered with American Red Cross, Braile Books and with Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital for twenty-five years.

Her husband, Charlie Miertschin preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Peggy M. Wood of Beaumont; son, Charles Miertschin and his wife Ernestine of El Paso; grandchildren, Karen Britton and her husband Fred of Grandbury, Matthew Miertschin and his wife Lisa and Michael Miertschin all of El Paso; great grandchildren, Devin Miertschin and Mattison Miertschin both of El Paso. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4330 Crow Road, Beaumont, Texas 77706 or charity of choice.
