John married Gusta Hakkebo 24 January 1911 at Nidaros Domkirke, Trondheim, Sør-Trøndelag, Norway. [8][9]
A family tragedy when their son John died the same day he was born. The birth happened at Hasselvika, further in the Trondheimsfjord on 17 October 1911. He was buried at Titran 1 September. It seems that maybe the birth was premature since they were not at home at the time. [10]
John is mentioned in his daughter Unda Johanne's Birth/baptisme in 1915 [11]
