Ursula K. (Kroeber) Le Guin is Notable.

Ursula was born in Berkeley California in 1929 to the noted anthropologists Alfred L. Kroeber and Theodora Kracaw. She was an accomplished writer of novels and short stories, and is perhaps best known for The Left Hand of Darkness[1], for which she was awarded the Hugo and Nebula awards, and the Earthsea series.
