Family #49 in the 1775 census.
Elisabeth Krug was born about 1764 in Julianenebene, Schleswig-Holstein, Denmark, to parents Johann Georg Krug and Katharina (Unknown) Krug. She was of German heritage; her parents moved to Denmark for work opportunities in 1761, and thus she was born there 3 to 4 years later.

Her birth year is estimated from her age in the 1775 Grimm census.

Because she and her family arrived before the main flood of immigrants, they were housed temporarily in one of the existing villages, such as Dobrinka. After the settlement of the bulk of the villages in 1767, they moved to Grimm.
By 1775 the family was firmly settled in Grimm and the couple had four children.

She is not specifically mentioned in her family's 1798 census record. Both her parents were deceased. She would have been about 34 years old, and was probably married, living in another household. Two of her sisters married and moved to Galka, and only her brother and his family were listed in the 1798 census.
