Biography
Johann Jacob was the son of Hans Michael Künzer and Anna Margaretha Klein He married Anna Newman on May 10, 1744 in Tulpechocken, Berks County, Pennsylvania. They were the parents of at least nine children:
- Elizabeth Kinser
- Mary Martha Kinser
- Walter Kinser (September 21, 1746-June 01, 1828)
- Anna Sibylla Kinser (February 05, 1750-October 1844)
- John Jacob Kinser (1756-July 16, 1816)
- Michael Kinser (1758-November 1828)
- Peter Kinser (1761-unknown)
- George Kinser (1764-unknown)
- Fredrick Kinser (1766-unknown)
Johann immigrated to America on the ship "Davey" arriving in Philadelphia on Oct. 26, 1738. He was 24 years old when he arrived in Philadelphia and was one of the few immigrants that could write his own name. Nevertheless, his name Kuentzer was "Americanized" to Kinser.
