Gustav died about 6 Jan 1896 in Agra, Bengal, India aged 39. He is buried in Agra Cantonment Cemetery, Agra, Uttar Pradesh.[3]
Gustav was a Freemason. In Calcutta his lodge was Lodge Of True Friendship. [4]
