Notes

Note N1204[Detzler.FTW]
Magdalena was the daughter of Daniel Kunkel and Mary LaPorte. It is known that she had red hair. If she could see her descendents today she would realize quite a number have inherited her flaming locks. Along with her red hair, she had the unusual combination of brown eyes. Her brothers were very proud of their sister's stunning looks. They always told Jake redheads were the best and liked to remind him how lucky he was to have Magdalena as his wife. (The Detzler Family Tree book Pg.32)
Magdalena married Jacob when she was twenty-five years of age. Nineteen years later she died. During their years together she had given birth to eleven children. This included one set of twins who died at birth. Magdalena died before her younger children really could remember her. Her grandchildren never knew her. Jacob never remarried. (The Detzler Family Tree book Pg. 32)
