I obtained the following statistics from https://familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/United_States_Korean_War_1950_to_1953

"About 54 thousand of the 5 million American service men and women who served in the Korean War were killed. The Korean War was a United Nations affair. Twenty-two nations were involved. " According to CNN, http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/28/world/asia/korean-war-fast-facts/ "There are more than 7,500 American soldiers still "unaccounted for from the Korean War" as of June 2014."
