William and Mary Kyle and their nine sons came to Buncombe County at 1792. One of those sons was Charles. He joined the church in 1848, his wife Mary Jean joined in 1847. The Kyles owned land on both sides of the North Fork River from Tabernacle toward the golf course." Note: The church is Tabernacle United Methodist Church
