Gussie married Wilhelm Friedrich Dahlke on September 17, 1882 in Grand Rapids, Wisconsin. [1] They had seven children: Herman Edward, Ella A., Laura, Olga A. G., Hildegarde A., Emma Leona, and Klara Elsie Caroline.
Her obituary lists her birthplace as Jacobshagen, Germany, which is today Dobrzany, Poland.
Obituary', from Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune, issue 29 July 1940, Page 1, Column 2: FUNERAL TUESDAY FOR MRS. WM. F. DAHLKE: Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. George C. Westphal at the First Moravian Church on Tuesday, July 30, at 2 p. m. for Mrs. William F. Dahlke, 82, who died at her home, 910 Wisconsin street, at 11:35 a. m. Saturday. Interment will follow in Forest Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Dahlke, whose maiden name was Louise Augusta Koenig, was born in Jacobshagen, Germany on June 28, 1858, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl F. Koenig. For the past 58 years she has resided in this city, where she married William F. Dahlke on September 17, 1882. Eight children were born to this union, one son dying in infancy. Mr. Dahlke preceded his wife in death on October 12, 1936.
She is survived by one son, Herman and six daughters, Ella, Olga, Emma, and Klara, all of this city, Hildegarde of El Paso, Texas, and Mrs. Gus Kaye of Jefferson, Wis., two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter.
