Biography

Regina Salomon was born on 20 December 1809 in Talheim near Heilbronn (in present-day Baden-Württemberg, Germany), as child of Salomon Aaron, school teacher and cantor ("Schullehrer und Vorsänger") from the nearby Königsbach, and his wife Sprinz née Moses from the nearby Horkheim.[1] [2]

Following Jewish tradition, she did not bear an inheritable surname, but was given her father's name (Salomon) as last name. This changed with the Emancipation Act of 1828, when Jews also had to choose such an inheritable surname. His father chose the name "Königsbacher" for himself and his family, referring to his birthplace "Königsbach".

Profile Checklist

This is a checklist to help you determine if the profile that you are working on is "complete." No profile is ever 100% done, but it is nice to know that the basic foundation of a great profile is laid.

Once you have completed a profile, go to the G2G post (https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1166985) and post the Wiki-ID before starting the next one. The team that gets the most complete profiles of the week will earn the right to have its members add a sticker to their profile. The member that gets the most after four weeks gets a special winner sticker, and can pick a digital surname and style to be made for them (see examples here).

Proposal: Her "last name at birth" should be changed to "Salomon" and her "current last name" should be "Königsbacher". (see Biography)
