In the 29 April 1910 census she was identified as Jessie Smith Balfour age 20, born in Missouri, and living in Justice Precinct 7, Smith, Texas, United States with her husband Dayton Balfour Jr. age 28 born in Texas and her daughter Pauline Balfour age 9 months, born in Texas.[1]
Her daughter Pauline, born 31 Jul 1909 in Red Springs, Texas died on 28 Sep 1910 as a result of typhoid complicated with spinal affection. According to the death certificate for her daughter Pauline, Jessie Smith was born in Missouri.
She died 2 days after her daughter.
She is buried, along with her daughter, in Sand Flat Cemetery, Tyler, Smith County, Texas.[2]
