Biography
François Marie Laberge was born and baptized on 17 Dec 1765 in L'Ange-Gardien parish in Province de Québec. He was the son of Guillaume Laberge and his wife Barbe Julien of this parish. Godparents at François' baptism were Philippe [surname missing] and Rose Huot, wife of François Marrois. [1]
At age 25 François married first wife, Marguerite Grenier dit Garnier on February 15, 1791 at Nativite-de-Notre-Dame, Beauport, Province de Québec. There were two known children born into this marriage. Marguerite died at age 24 in 1794.
At age 30 François married second wife Julie Marcoux on 6 Oct 1795 in Beauport, Bas-Canada. There was one known child born into this marriage.
François died at age 68 on August 1, 1834, in Maskinongé; he was buried there in Saint-Joseph parish cemetery.[2]
