Note: EUNICE - Funeral services for Mrs. Jimmie LaHaye Hoffman, 79, were held at 2 p.m. today in St.
Anthony Catholic Church here with burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The Revs. Joseph Alexander and Shelton Fabre conducted the services.
Mrs. Hoffman, a resident of Grosse Tete, died Saturday, January 10, 1998, in Our Lady of the
Lake in Baton Rouge. She was a member of St. Joseph Altar Society of Grosse Tete for 25
years.
Survivors include: two sons, Steve Manuel and Chief Charles Manuel, both of Eunice; a stepson,
Tim Hoffman of Grosse Tete; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Dolores) McGee and Mrs. Jerry (Faye)
Gilliam of Grosse Tete; three stepdaughters, Mrs. James (Marsha) Smith of Baton Rouge, Mrs.
Ishmael (Donna) Steiv of Rosedale and Mrs. Gary (Cynthia) Carrol of Addis; two
daughters-in-law, Janelle Mire Manuel and Brenda Carrier Manuel, both of Eunice; a
stepdaughter-in-law, Denise Gehle Hoffman of Grosse Tete; 21 grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hoffman was preceded in death by her husbands, Berk Manuel and Tom Hoffman; her
parents, Charles and Anna LaHaye; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Miller; and a great-grandchild.
Visiting hours were observed from 2:30 p.m. Sunday until time of services today. A rosary was
recited at 7 p.m.
Ardoin's Funeral Home of Eunice was in charge of arrangements.
