Biography

Basically interested in French-Canadian genealogy (have a page on GenealogyWise) and the hobby part of genealogy is researching /collecting Michigan Anishnawbe (Chippewa / Ojibwa, Ottawa /Odawa & Potawatomi) genealogies, there are also some families I collect all the male lines from the progeniture, such as HAGAMAN / HAGEMAN / etc., HANKINSON (Thomas & Jane/Jean line of NJ), LALONDE / LALANDE / LALONE, LeROY / LAROY/LARROWAY-AUDY, LILLIE / LILLEY / LILLY, MELOCHE and TREMBLAY / TROMBLY / etc. families

Forgot to mention - interested in the different TURNER families of Mass.

Also have a line extending back into European nobility & royality.

Have been doing genealogy for over 40 years, currently belong to the French-Canadian Heritage Society of Michigan (http://habitantheritage.org/home) and Mid-Michigan Genealogical Society (https://mmgs.wordpress.com/)

Have a group on GenealogyWise covering French-Canadian (and Acadian/Cajun and metis) research - http://www.genealogywise.com/group/frenchcanadiandescendants

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share DNA with James:

Hi James -

Do you have any sources for Christophe de Brabançon, his wife Jeanne de Sarrebruck, their son François and Jeanne de Villers? I added a source but I'd like something stronger. I've begun integrating the research by Gagné and Kokanosky to consolidate the Joyeuse line, so, when that is done, I'll be happy to add a few ancestors there.

Language: The Ojibwe language--otherwise anglicized as Chippewa, Ojibwa or Ojibway and known to its own speakers as Anishinabe or Anishinaabemowin--is an Algonquian tongue spoken by 50,000 people in the northern United States and southern Canada. There are five main dialects of Ojibwe: Western Ojibwe, Eastern Ojibwe, Northern Ojibwe (Severn Ojibwe or Oji-Cree), Southern Ojibwe (Minnesota Ojibwe or Chippewa), and Ottawa (Odawa or Odaawa). The Ottawa have always been politically independent from the Ojibwe, but their language is essentially the same--speakers of all five dialects, including Ottawa-

Apparently at Detroit they were all present under Pontiac so his wife's dialect could very well have been slightly different (KL)

James,

Have been looking for possible documentation on the ancestors of Antoinette de Longueval and found virtually nothing more than the study by Gagné and Kokanosky we've discussed on G2G. The document states that Nicole des Ancherins's genealogy is original (new research) and actually, it does not seem to be documented elsewhere. I did find traces of the des Ancherins family but not Nicole's close relative. I think Gagné and Kokanosky's research is very good however. Another thing their work states, is that the parentage of Charles de Longueval, Antoinette de Longueval's father, is absolutely unknown. He only owned parts of fiefs and was quite poor. His parents on WT should be disconnected. Please contact me if you're still interested in this branch. Thx !

Thank you, James, for catching that - I actually had not included any accents, that was the original contributor that must have done that and I missed it. I had been focused on the actual letters. I'll have to be more careful in the future.

Hi James,

Just randomly noticed we're 9th cousins both sharing our 8th great grandfather LeRoy.... according to Wikitree. The link is through both of our fathers side. "Hi cousin!"

Thanks for fixing the sourcing on William Henry Pinckney. I don't know what happened in the import, but I have also seen these "sources" that point nowhere.
