Research Notes

This very large family immigrated into St. Lawrence County from Canada. Various members of the family use Pitre, Petrie, Lajambe, Lashomb, Lashamb. The father uses both the P and L versions of spellings in records. Then to confuse things more, Champagne is spelled Champine, and Shampine (instead of the French spelling) in the United States recordsMaltby-309 12:23, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

Children listed in Julia's obituary are Mary A. Burghart, California; Henry and William, and Jane Courier, Brasher Falls; Norman, central New York; Joseph, Massena; Carrie Brown, St. Regis Falls; and Carrie who died at a young age. 26 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Pitre-817 and LaShomb-253 appear to represent the same person because: same parents and spouse

Note that the comment by Gwen Edwards is NOT correct. This family uses many different versions of two names interchangeably. See research notes in the biography.

I looked into the headstone shown on this profile and it in no way can be the same person. Julia's name on headstone say's Julia Lashomb and list's her spouse as C. Shampine.

I can see that it dosen't match. I think it should be removed. I will contact the PM as not to step on any toes.
