Biography

Birth / Baptism

Lucia Laan was born in the hamlet of Broekoord under the village of Andijk (nowadays part of the municipality of Medemblik) in 1783 and baptized on 24 Jul 1783 in the Roman Catholic church in Wervershoof ^[1]. She is the daughter of Arie Pieterse Laan and Trijntje Lourens Pronk. Her godmother is Geertje Pieterse Laan, obviously a sister of her father.

First Marriage

Lucia (Sijtje) married to Johann Stephanus Krieg on 17 Jul 1803 in Medemblik. ^[2]

Second Marriage

After the death of Jan on 6 July 1811, on 5 Apr 1812 Lucia married the widower Jacob Ariensz. Hoek in Medemblik, Noord-Holland ^[3].

Death

Lucia passed away at the age of 42 on 23 Apr 1826 in Medemblik ^[4]. Her death was reported to the civil registry of Medemblik two days later by her husband Jacob Hoek (aged 56, farmer by profession) and an acquaintance by the name of Arien Gens (aged 63, a blacksmith).
