Unknown Laas was a Volga German.

Unknown Laas has German Roots.

Family #Lb14 in the 1798 census.

He was one of these three Laas brothers:

• Johann Jakob Laas, born 1767
• Johann Heinrich Laas, born 1772
• Johann Christian Laas, born 1778

Of the three men, only the eldest, Johann Jakob, was married at the time of the 1798 census. Any of them could have fathered a child born in 1803.

Their parents were Chrisian Laas, also spelled Lass, and his with Katharina from Mecklenburg, Klauswetz, Germany. At the time of the census in 1767, Johann Jakob was four weeks old.
