Marie Edesse Labossiere was born in 1830.[1] She is the daughter of Francois Labossiere and Sophie Mathieu.
Edesse was the fourth child and first daughter in a family of 11 children, comprised of four boys and seven girls, however, six of the children died young or as infants. At least three of the children, are known to have married.
Marie Edesse is next found at Thompson, Windham County, CT, United States in the 1850 [2]census with her parents and two sisters, Marie Desilda, (Zildaw), and Mariella or Marcelline. She is listed as Esther and the family name, Labossiere has been badly "anglicized" to Labocia and Desilda has become, "Zildaw". Her older brother, Peter or Pierre is living[3] near by with his new wife, Marie Louise Pichet and her parents and siblings.
