Frances Agnes Labossiere was born at Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 29, 1922. She was the second child of three and the first of two daughters of Amedee LaBossiere and Emily Anscomb.

Frances Labossiere's parents divorced in 1936 and her mother married Ernest Grindrod, so at time she appears to have used the surname, Grindrod, in fact when she married Harold Henry Fowler at Winnipeg of June 20, 1940, her surname was listed as Grindrod and Labossiere was corrupted to Labassiere and listed as a given name. Frances Labossiere and Harold Fowler had one known daughter, Frances Louise.

Frances Labossiere and Harold Fowler divorced about 1941-42. Frances Labossiere married again to Otto Wuerch about 1942-43 and she moved to B.C. and settled first in the Vancouver area, then in Nanaimo. Frances Labossiere and Otto Wuerch are known to have three children, two sons and a daughter. The youngest son died at eight years old.

Frances Labossiere passed away at Nanaimo on Feb. 18, 1988. She was 65.
