Sophie LaBossiere was born at St-Ours On May 20, 1855 and she was baptized there the next day. [1] She was the fifth known child of 15 and the third daughter of seven for Alexis Labossiere and Sophie Arsenault.
Sophie is found in the Canada census of 1861 [2] living with her parents and five other siblings at St-Ours. The family consists of: parents, Alexis Labossiere, 35 and his wife Sophie Arceneauld, 34 and six children: Jean Baptiste,14; Alexis, 12; Julienne, 10; Marie, 7; Sophie, 6 and Celina, 3.
Sadly, Sophie passed away at St-Ours on Nov. 3, 1864 at the age of 9 years, 6 months and she was buried there two days later. [3] She was the first of three children in a row in this family who died young or as an infant.
