Samuel "Frank" Lackey was born in 1866, the son of John Franklin and Rebecca Agnus Leech Lackey. He married Mary Ann Padgett and together they had seven children: Edgar Brugh, Ruth Johnson, Robert Padgett, Lloyd Franklin, Rachel Adeline and Laura Frances. One child Estelle Agnes died as an infant.
Frank was staying with his son Robert in Ohio at the time of his death in 1934. He was buried alongside his mother at the High Bridge Presbyterian Church cemetery near Natural Bridge, Virginia.
