Biography

Lucinda was born on the 3 Feb 1758[1] in New Kent County, Virginia. She is the daughter of William Lacy and Sarah _ _ _ _?. She was baptized 5 Mar 1758 in St. Peter's Parish, New Kent, Virginia, United States. [1] It is unlikely that this is the correct birthdate and parents. The Lucinda Lacy of this profile married in 1781 that would make her 31 years old, not a common age to be married at the time and she went on to have 11 children.

She moved to Greenbrier County, Virginia (now West Virginia) with her family.

She married David Trimble [2][3]

In the fall of 1797 David and Lucy (Lacy) Trimble left Greenbriar County, Virginia (now West Virginia) to settle in the newly created county of Montgomery in Kentucky. Among the people in their traveling party were Lucy's sister Phoebe, and her husband, James Kash and James' brother Caleb. [4]

  • In 1810 David Trimble was living in Montgomery County, Kentucky with his family. He was over 45 (before 1765). The others in the house were only listed by age. Proposed names have been added in (name). Female 26-44 (Lucinda ? 1766-1784), Male 26-44 (Marcus 1765-1784), Male 16-25 (Unknown 1785-1794), Male 16-25 (William 1785-1794), Female 16-25 (Mary/Jane 1785-1794), Male 10-15 (John 1795-1800), Male 10-15 (Isaac 1795-1800, Female 10-15 (unknown 1795-1800), Female under 10 (Lucinda 1800-1810), Female under 10 (Louise 1800-1810). [5]
  • In 1820 David Trimble was living in Montgomery County, Kentucky with his family. He was over 45. The others in the house were only listed by age. Proposed names have been added in (name). Female 26-44 (1776-1794), Female 16-25 (daughter Lucinda 1795-1804), Male 10-15 (Unknown 1805-1810), Female 10-15 (Louise 1805-1810), Male under 10 (Unknown 1810-1820), Female under 10 (Unknown 1810-1820), Female under 10 (Unknown 1810-1820). [6]Note: The eldest female 26-44 (1776-1794) is too young to be Lucinda Lacy ho married in 1781. The children listed in the Wolfe County history have not all been researched yet to figure their ages in this census.

Lucinda died before 1820 as she is not listed on the census record with her husband. In 1810 David's wife is to young to be the Lucinda Lacy born in 1750. so she may have died before that time and he remarried. David's wife in 1810 was born 1766 to 1784, David and Lucinda married in 1781 so it would have to be near the 1766 date If this is indeed Lucinda. If that is the case than the 1750 birth record and attachment to parents William and Sarah Lacy is not correct.

Research Notes

Note made that William Lacy and Sarah parents listed on baptism record are William Lacy and Sarah Johnson - no source as to who made the note or what evidence they were using.

Some trees show a death date of 1794, others 24 Jun 1827 there is no source for the date of 1827, and she is definitely not with David Trimble in the 1820 census.

1861 David and Lucy Trimble listed as parents on the death record of Mark Trimble born 1782 Virginia, died 1861 Johnson County, Kentucky. [7]

Lucy was Baptized on 5th of March 1758, at St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County, Virginia. Her Parents are William Lacy & Sarah _ _ _ _? .

Lacy-1973 and Lacy-503 appear to represent the same person because: Lacy-1973 actually shows the correct baptismal year of 1758 instead of 1750 which is what is indicated in Lacey-503. This would make her closer to the correct childbearing years. Otherwise the dates are the same as are the parents.

I have approved the merge, now waiting on someone from the other profile.

I have updated the birth and baptism date to 1758 instead of 1750. The reason I had it listed as 1750 is because that is what the source on FamilySearch states - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VRRZ-CFQ

The other profile has a typed version of the source that says 1758, It would be nice if we could get a scan of the actual document. Thanks for proposing this merge.

Lacy-503 and Lacy-3137 appear to represent the same person because: I was going to source the profile I made today and noticed this other profile that is the same person.

Notice how the DNA match population is nearly the same as Lucinda "Lucy" Trimble? I'd say its a definite match.

Mother is Sarah Johnson. See the pending merge of father William Lacy for more information

Lacy-1973 and Lacy-503 do not represent the same person because: At this time, I do NOT see a match. The Lucy Lacy-1973 has a different mother than the Lucinda Lacy-503. Lucy Lacy-1973 has a proven birthdate/Baptism date that also proves her parents as William Lacy and Sarah _ _ _ _? I am going to upload the Baptism so you can see who her parents were. So, NO at this time these two should not be merged, until further proof is brought foward.

Lacy-1973 and Lacy-503 appear to represent the same person because: Same person, though the mother for one of the Lucy Lacy profiles is incorrect.

Lacy-1002 and Lacy-503 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicates married to the same person. Please merge.
