Edwin George was born in North Adelaide, South Australia, on 14 April 1850, the third son of Frederick William Ladmore and Sarah Gurner.[1]
Some time in the 1860's the family moved to the Batemans Bay area on the south coast of NSW, and settled at nearby Mogo.
Edwin's mother Sarah died in 1871, when he was 21. In 1874 his father remarried, a widow, Barbara Jane Veitch (nee Meiklejohn), who had several young children, who came with their mother to live at "Waterfall" with Frederick and his sons.
One of the Veitch children was Mary Jane, who Edwin married on 25 December 1877, at the family property "Waterfall" at Mogo.[2]
Edwin and Mary had 13 children.
Edwin died on 1 June 1923, at Batemans Bay, aged 72 years. He was buried in the Methodist portion of the cemetery in Batemans Bay.[3][4]
Groom's surname on marriage registration incorrectly listed as RADMORE instead of LADMORE.
