Irene was born in 1936. She passed away in 2021. "The family announces with sorrow her death in Sturgeon Falls, on Monday, August 16th, 2021, at the age of 84 years. Daughter of the late Ernest Lafond and of the late Lina Lafond (née Aubin). Wife of Gilles Allard. Mother of Denise Allard and Michelle Parent (Christian). Predeceased by her daughter Gisèle Allard and her grandson Michel Plante. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her siblings Joseph Lafond, Gérard Lafond, Clément Lafond, Fernand Lafond, Jeannette Lafond and Simon Lafond." [1]
