Melina was born in Quebec in 1883. She is the daughter of Onésime Lafrenière. She was the second daughter to be given this name; the first Melina died in 1881 at age 3.
Melina Lafrenière and Odilon Boulanger were married May 15, 1906 at St. Wenceslas Roman Catholic Church at Saint-Wenceslas, Quebec.[1]
