Brita was born about 1700 in Christiana Hundred, New Castle, Delaware to parents Nils Petersson Laican and Maria (Gästenberg) Laican. She was married twice. Her first husband was John Seeds whom she married in 1722. They had at least 10 children together. John passed away in 1753 . She then married Thomas Milner, about 1754. There were no children recorded of this second marriage.
Brita passed away in 1756 and is buried in the Old Swedes Churchyard in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware.
