Isabella was born in December 1739.

Research

This record shows Isabel the child of Mungo Laidlaw and Elizabeth Milne. Nicol Laidlaw and Elizabeth Milne married in Melrose in November 1738, so it seems likely that either Nicol was also known as Mungo, or that there is a transcription error. A purchase of the baptism scan might help.

Isabel Laidlaw, daughter of Mungo Laidlaw and Elizabeth Milne, was born or baptised on 23 December 1739 in Melrose, Roxburghshire, Scotland.^[1]

A Mungo Laidlaw married Margaret Cochran on or after 4 December 1713 in Melrose, Roxburghshire, Scotland. Only two children recorded, Christian (1714) and James (1719).^[2] (It's possible they were the parents of Nicol, and the parish clerk wrote Nicol's father name (Mungo) instead of Nicol's.)
