Biography
James was born in Jedburgh, Scotland on 14 April, 1841, and baptised in September of the same year in Jedburgh Associate Parish[1].
In the 1841 Scottish Census James was living with his mother and older brother at Pirnie Hall, Roxburgh, with an older Walker, perhaps his mother's father.
