John Laird and Sarah Finley; born 29 January 1784,[1] York County, Pennsylvania; died 16 March 1850,[2] aged 64, York County, Pennsylvania;[3] buried Chanceford Presbyterian Cemetery, Airville, York County.[4] She was married on 23 December 1802 by Rev. James Clarkson at Widow Finley’s [Findlay’s] house in Chanceford Township, York County, to ANDREW CLARKSON; Alexander Turner and Andrew Finley witnessed her marriage[5] (Andrew Finley was her great-uncle, who bequeathed her 400 pounds—an immense sum at the time—by his will dated 13 May 1806);[6] mother of James S., Maria Laird, Sarah F., Eliza, Nancy/Agnes and Louisa Euphemia Clarkson.
