Biography

Alexander was born on 13 March 1732^[1] and was baptised in the parish of Port Glasgow, Renfrewshire on the same day^[2].

He is the 2nd son of Alexander Laird and Elizabeth Crawford named Alexander. Another Alexander was born in 1726 and died in infancy.^[3]

Alexander married Mary Ferrier in the parish of Port Glasgow, Renfrewshire on 6 September 1760.^[4]
