On Caroline Lake's death certificate, her son lists her father's name as Henry Lake, but both of her marriage certificates list her father's name as Jordan Lake. Jordan's grandmother's maiden name was Dodson, and I found an 1850 Rappahannock County Census Record with a 14-year-old "Caroline Leak" (Lake and Leak/Leake seem to have been used interchangeably for a few generations) living with two Dodsons. From their ages I would guess them to be an aunt and uncle, or older cousins. One or both of Caroline's parents may have died by this point, but I can't be sure.
