Biography

Angella "Tela" Lalonde, daughter of Cyprien Lalonde and Marie Corinne Rivette, was born on 23 June 1920 in Arnaudville, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, United States.^[1] She was enumerated there with her parents and siblings during the 1930 census. She was the only child in the family who had attended school during the previous school year.^[2] Angella completed her education through the fourth grade.^[3]

She married Louis Napoleon Zerangue, son of Joseph Althous Zeringue and Adolphina Badeau, about 1938.^[3] They had four children.^[4]

They rented a home together for three dollars per month during the 1940 census, living at Portage road in St. Landry Parish. A 13-year-old nephew lived with them.^[3]

Angella died at age 93 on 21 November 2013 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, Lafayette Parish. She was buried in the mausoleum at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church Cemetery in Leonville, St. Landry Parish.^[1]
