In the death of Charles Vernon LAMAR, at his residence four miles southwest of Prattville last Wednesday afternoon, June 5th, 1929, Autauga County lost one of its best citizens. (He) was the son of M. Dent and Dora Doster Lamar. He was born near Prattville May 29th,1865. He was united in marriage February 25,1892, to Miss Mary E. Jones, of Mulberry... He leaves surviving him a widow, four sons, Clyde M., R.Jones, Ferris and Frank Lamar, and one daughter, Mrs. A.D. Allen. All reside here except R. Jones Lamar who has just returned from eight years service with the U.S. Army. The deceased leaves two brothers, J.D. Lamar, of Ft. Deposit, and Dent Lamar of Wills Point, Texas, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Frye, of Mansfield, Texas, and Mrs. Myra Robinson, of Arlington, Texas. The funeral services were held at the residence ... and interment was at the Jones Cemetery ten miles southwest of Autaugaville...
